Jesus (second-hand)

Autor: Michael Grant

- published in 1977
- in good shape (the protective cover is slightly yellowed and the book shows significant signs of usage, with numerous marks and notes (in German language) by the former owner)
- the author Michael Grant (1914 - 2004) was a Professor for Classics at the University of Edinburgh; yet, he gained recognition while working on the field of ancient history, where he published many books on various issues
- looking at the Gospels with an historian's eye Grant is endeavored to elaborate which parts of the Gospel refer authentically to Jesus' life and ministry; the result leads him to the (main) conclusion (of the book) that everything what Jesus tought and did was subordinate to his final mission: the realization of the Kingdom of God
- finally, Grant shows how the desaster Jesus was tragically involved in was converted into an unique triumph after Jesus had died
- with notes, ancient writings and terms, short bibliography, index and maps
